Voters Committee Calls On Electors To Check Their Names On Lists

The Committee of Voters of Ukraine calls on electors to check their names enlisted on rolls for the Verkhovna Rada elections.

This tells the Committee report, text of which Ukrainian News has.

“The Committee calls on district election commissions and the electors to boost the process of checking the rolls,” reads the report.

In the Committee’s opinion, the rolls are of poor quality: there is a trend of using lists used in 2006 with their drawbacks, not taking into account changes made since that time, and in some cases the lists distorted due to imperfect software.

At that the Committee notes that in different districts and cities quality of rolls varies.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Committee of Voters of Ukraine is forecasting that 1 million citizens will be unable to vote in this year’s early parliamentary elections because of errors in voter lists.

The parliamentary elections are scheduled for September 30.
